Caring for adolescents and young adults in Northern Virginia: Expert adolescent medicine services at Inova Children's
Adolescent medicine focuses on promoting health and addressing concerns for patients from the age of puberty to early adulthood. An adolescent medicine specialist is a doctor who diagnoses and treats both physical and emotional health issues in youth and young adults. These specialists also play a crucial role as transition healthcare providers, guiding youth with chronic illness from pediatricians to adult doctors.
Inova Children’s recognizes the distinct needs of adolescents and young adults during this period of significant physical and emotional growth. Our adolescent medicine specialists offer comprehensive specialty care that extends beyond routine primary care visits. With a commitment to providing compassionate and inclusive support, our team ensures the health and well-being of adolescents in a welcoming environment.
